POD were invited to participate in an international closed competition in Chongqing, China, to revive a disused steel rolling factory into a new large scale mixed-use development that would deliver a brand new asset for the community.

The proposal included, retail units, offices, hotels, industrial museum and a public space strategy to locate the development into the wider fabric.

The retails acts as a circuit of attractive shopping that supports the museum, exhibition, hotel, residential and office buildings.

The circuit is a carefully controlled route that is an experience of environments, surprise buildings and leisurely public landscapes.
The entire concept attempts to create an event and experience to attract visitors. This engagement can be educational, playful and commercial.
