Building Information Modelling (BIM)

We believe it is essential throughout the design, planning and tender process to be able coordinate architecture, structures and MEP alongside other consultants. This is essential as buildings become ever more complex with more challenging fire and energy targets to meet. Therefore, we openly collaborate with consultants and solve problems efficiently whilst also being mindful to stay focussed on the final outcomes for the building. Outputs are governed by quality control processes delivering best practice and design quality.

We’re constantly seeking ways to demystify the design process making it understandable for clients, stakeholders and the public who view the design at various stages of the process. With the use of BIM integrated into our workflow we can provide visualisation at various stages to inform pre planning discussions; planning applications; tender stages and sales and marketing and this has become key to the success of many of our projects.

We adopt Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools like Revit, allowing us to create detailed digital models that facilitate coordination and clash detection. Throughout the design process, we continuously review and check our models for discrepancies and clashes, ensuring the seamless integration of various design elements. We collaborate closely with consultants from different disciplines to provide them with the necessary information and ensure their designs meet project requirements. Our attention to detail ranges from high-end interior designs to the practical and robust detailing of social housing units.

POD Architects knowledge and expertise in Building Information Modelling will bring added value to any project, enabling a truly collaborative design environment to deliver an exemplary scheme. BIM is transformable when applied well to projects, greatly reducing waste, enabling collaboration and increasing the value of project outcomes. Combined with the emphasis we place on collaboration with our multidisciplinary teams this puts us in a unique position. Our ability to create coordinated structures and service models provide us with insight into the existing and proposed site conditions.
